The Red Sea Coast is fast becoming a golfing paradise. Ancient Sands Golf Resort will offer a world class 18-hole, par 72 Karl Litten designed championship golf course adding to the already established Red Sea golfing circuit.
A lush oasis in the midst of the development carefully balances the desert landscape with the verdant greens and fairways. It will be a very enjoyable resort course that will appeal to all standards of golfer. Owners at Ancient Sands Golf Resort will secure a special membership package when they purchase as well as being entitled to discounts on green fees at the existing El Gouna 18-hole USPGA course.
Two loops of nine holes are focused around the Golf Club Estate House. The course will follow the terrain of the site with the lagoon creating a natural boundary.
Karl Litten considers Ancient Sands Golf Course to be a truly unique opportunity to bind the development together and create a perfect balance between the aesthetic qualities of the course, the open space, lagoons and the exclusivity of the community itself. “The golf course at Ancient Sands Golf Resort will be a challenging but forgiving course leaving a lasting memory every time it is played. The dual fairways design will enhance both the golf and living experience thereby creating added value to the residential product.” Click here to learn more about Karl Litten.
Golf courses traditionally require much water to ensure that they look green and lush. With 80% of its land mass as desert, water is a precious commodity in Egypt. The grass at Ancient Sands Golf Resort will primarily be Paspalum, a salt water tolerant grass irrigated with sea water enabling the course to be maintained in an environmentally sustainable way. Presently at El Gouna, recycled water is utilised for irrigation of the golf course and greenery throughout the town.
